Meet the Team

STUART HYAMS (Bsc Hons) – Managing Director

I have been passionate about sport and exercise my whole life. I performed to a national level in athletics, but have always been willing to have a go at any strenuous activity or sport. I feel very lucky to be able to earn a living out of something that I love doing and because of this I hope my passion and commitment will rub off on you.

I have 11 years experience in the health and fitness industry, during which I have become qualified in personal training (level 4 advanced), Pilates, Sports Therapy and massage, working with many clients along the way.

After graduating in Sports Therapy in 2004 I gained experience working with both recreational and elite athletes within the Sports Injury Clinic at ‘Club La Santa’ training resort in Lanzarote.

After returning to this country I formed Back on Track in January 2008 and have been successfully working with my clients since.

I am a motivated person who is devoted to health and fitness. From my early teens I have been up for trying every sport and fitness craze offered to me and love setting myself new goals and challenges to keep me focused.

I have worked in the fitness industry for 13 years and get great satisfaction in helping others achieve their goals. My years of experience and passion to continuously expand my knowledge have enabled me to achieve a high level of success with clients training. I believe in training hard and effectively. I continuously develop my exercises to focus on the needs of my client. For example I have formed a vast amount of superb exercises aimed specifically for those problem areas that face all women.

I believe in the saying “you are what you eat” and feel that no training program can be fully successful without good nutrition. I also know that life is for living and believe that with the correct advice and focus you can develop a healthy balanced diet which suits your lifestyle.

Having been brought up in an active family, for me exercise has always been a natural way of living. I have always taken part in sport and was swimming from a young age to a regional level. After 10 years of swimming I decided to stop but carried on keeping fit at my local gym where I managed to maintain a high fitness level.

I am currently working towards my Level 2 Fitness instructor, which will lead me towards my level 3 Personal training qualification. I am continually learning new ways to exercise at Back on Track and am looking forward to helping the members achieve new fitness goals.

I am passionate about Pilates and training the more mature person having worked in the fitness industry for 20 years.

I can help you improve your mobility and flexibility using the Modern Pilates method. Developed by physiotherapists and fitness experts, Modern Pilates aims to rebalance the body by improving posture, muscle tone, flexibility and core stability. The slow and controlled approach can also help to relieve stress and tension, help with back problems, assist in injury rehabilitation and improve body awareness.

My qualifications include CYQ/NVQ Level 3 Matwork Pilates, CYQ Exercise to Music, CYQ Exercise for the Older Adult, KFA Seated Exercise for the Mature Mover and I am a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) Level 3.

Enthusiastic and energetic, I am also a good listener, caring, and sensitive to people's individual needs, plus I have a cheerful disposition and a good sense of humour! I feel I am an excellent role model for the more mature person and will strive to help you improve your quality of life.
