Pilates is a difficult skill to master. But when done properly it can be very effective at strengthening your core muscles, improving flexibility, balance and coordination. In a class of over 6 people it is an impossible task for an instructor to ensure that each individual is training correctly. To be sure that you’re not WASTING YOUR TIME in overcrowded classes a one to one session is advisable.

A key element to Pilates is being able to engage your deep core muscles. This involves gently pulling in your abdomen while adding progressive load i.e. raising one leg of the ground while in a lying position. By engaging these deep abdominal muscles and strengthening them your spine will become supported and less vulnerable to injury. We have had many clients that have come to us because they suffer from chronic back pain, and it is always amazing to see the pain disappear by regularly doing this type of training.
